Visitors and Museums

It has been so great meeting up with people that come to NYC. Here are some pictures of when one of my best friends, Chelsea Walker, came to town with her boyfriend and her parents. They took us out to eat at this amazing Italian restaurant, and then we went out on the town. It was a lot of fun! Oh and Katie Holmes actually walked through the lobby of the hotel where they were staying! I got to see the side and back of her, and she wasn't looking too good. She needs to eat a few cheeseburgers! So that was my first famous person (besides Ricky Martin- not sure if he counts ha ha) that I have seen so far.. does it count since I didn't see the front of her?
They stayed at The Palace, and the Christmas decorations were amazing.

These shots don't really do it justice

We took about a million pictures in front of that tree

Let's do it again!

Deep in thought about the hipsters around us

I can't get Ryan to make a normal, smiling face to save my life

One of my good friends from undergrad, Lauren Lee Favreau, came to NYC from D.C. to visit, and we got to meet up last Saturday afternoon. It was so good to catch up with her!

A few more of my friends have come to NYC to visit, but it is hard to meet up with their busy schedules when they are here to see the sights of the city! :) Hopefully they will come back soon- eh hem,  Carleen and Sean!

Ryan and I saw this while we were out one Saturday exploring. I thought that my friends back home in the MS Delta would get a kick out of this. This stuff is literally everywhere back home. Maybe I should start selling cotton on the side here.

While we were waiting to meet up with Chelsea, Ryan and I got to see the Christmas tree. It was so pretty, and it was cool to see it during the day as opposed to when it was first lit.

I finally got to go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and it was amazing! One of my friends and students from AUC asked if I wanted to go, and I was so excited. I took about a million pictures, so I will try not to bore you with all of them. We had such a good time there, and I had no idea  that it would be so cheap and easy to go there. They have suggested rates at which you can pay to go through the museum, but you get to choose what you want to pay. You could literally pay $1 to get into the museum to see all of the priceless works of art. So cool. I will definitely be going back now that I figured that out!  ** Disclaimer- Please do not judge what my hair looks like. It was raining that day...
Brittany is very good at being silly

I love all of their jewelry..

This was the coolest room. It faces Central Park, and the wall is nothing but windows.

So pretty

They had a whole Warhol exhibit, but pictures were strictly forbidden. I really wanted at least one picture, so I took this one when no one was looking!

We then walked to FAO Shwartz- the famous toy store. I knew it from Home Alone 2...

It was amazing in there

Right across the street was Bergdorf Goodman's

They had a whole section on muppets. You could make your own. I was really tempted.

I had so much fun playing with them!

I really wanted to also go and play on this but only children were doing it... sigh

With one of the soldiers

The Plaza (also from Home Alone 2)

On the inside of Bergdorf Goodman's. It was gorgeous. Brittany and I were walking through the make-up section and we were offered make-overs. It was so much fun, and we both agreed that we could get used to that kind of treatment! I was hoping that we would see someone famous, but alas no.

That's about all for now folks! I can't believe that Christmas is almost here!
